Office upgrade

With a lot of expanding projects and expected growth we ditched storage space in favour of desk space in the office.    Now all eight of us can meet around a table, within arms reach of a computer.  Five people can get along nicely in the office all sitting at a workstation or edit suite.

Work as usual – come snow or darkness

Nice and cosy – our office is built into the hill side and heavily insulated.   Butterfly garden in front of the main window looking like a ’still life’.   Business as usual for us… BT Business Broadband has finally come up trumps by being one of the few national services not to fold up under the weight of snow.    Staff also working from home on shared server access.

Cockermouth Floods – UPDATE

UPDATE: Aside from the news wires, Specialist Stock is the only specialist library to have any coverage of the flooding in Cumbria owing to our strength in environmental issues. Photographer Ashley Cooper, one of our main providers for our Green Collection, sent in a number of strong images over the last few days. This enabled us to get coverage in at least five national papers, including the main images on two front pages.

We are sorry and respect the loss of life as a result of these floods.
